HUNT SLONEM

IN THE GARDEN

Hunt Slonem's flair and admiration for far-flung destinations has been a staple of his life since childhood. His father's position as a Navy officer meant the family moved often during his formative years and he would continue to seek out travel opportunities as a young-adult. Experiences studying abroad in Nicaragua and Mexico imbued him with an appreciation for tropical landscapes that would influence his unique style.

Ever-inspired by nature, and his beloved pet birds, Slonem is renowned for his distinct neo-expressionist style and is best know for his series of bunnies, butterflies and tropical birds. After decades of honing his aesthetic, the artist’s impressive career enters yet another phase.

As though they have been pulled directly from his paintings, Slonem's famous muses will soon find a home among the landscapes of the San Antonio Botanical Garden; the perfect backdrop for his first monumental exhibition.
